Macronutrient cycling in hydroponic lettuce cultivation

چکیده
In order to address issues of limited resources and contamination by fertilizers, nutrient solutions may be reused in hydroponics as an alternative their disposal the environment. This work evaluated feasibility replacement for during lettuce hydroponic cultivation. The experiment was carried out agricultural greenhouse NFT system using “Milena” cultivar. divided into two stages: 1) monitoring data collection proposition management; 2) validation proposed management. Monitoring consumption crop's nutritional solution first stage served basis Management validated second through evaluation fresh dry mass, crop status, amount fertilizer applied treatments: T1 - with reuse; T2 without reuse. mass nutrients absorbed plants were submitted t-test at 5% probability, showing no significant difference between treatments, making it possible conclude that reuse provided cultivation.

Effects of Ammonium Nitrogen on Lettuce Grown on Pumice in a Closed Hydroponic System
Two successive lettuce crops were grown in spring 2005 in a completely closed hydroponic system. The ratio of ammonium to total nitrogen (Nr) in the fresh nutrient solution (FNS) introduced into the closed system to compensate for plant uptake was 0, 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 on amolar basis. In allNr treatments, the concentrations of total N, K, Ca, Mg, P, and micronutrients in the FNS were identical, ...

The land, water, and energy requirements of hydroponics were compared to those of conventional agriculture by example of lettuce production in Yuma, Arizona, USA. Data were obtained from crop budgets and governmental agricultural statistics, and contrasted with theoretical data for hydroponic lettuce production derived by using engineering equations populated with literature values. Yields of l...

During the 1990s, the sustainable management of the forests issue has begun to attract the world’s attention, therefore, some forest management certifications started and began to spread to worldwide. In 1999, for the first time, in Maine, the USA, there was another kind of third party certification program called Maine Master Logger Certification (MLC) being established for loggers by local lo...
متن کاملPlant Hydroponic Cultivation: A Support for Biology Research in the Field of Plant-Microbe-Environment Interactions
Plant production is essentially dependant on culture medium and conditions. Vegetable crops are known to grow in soil which, in natural conditions, acts as a mineral nutrient reservoir, but the soil itself is not essential to plant growth. Plant roots are able to absorb the mineral nutrients of the soil dissolved in water. When the required mineral nutrients are introduced into artificially syn...
